Charlotte’s Web, the Colorado-based pioneer in the CBD industry, is sponsoring an event Wednesday that’s part live concert, brand builder and fundraiser for the nonprofit Realm of Caring, which provides support to users of cannabinoid products.
The free event honors the company’s 13-year-old namesake, Charlotte Figi, who died a year ago, and creates original content seen in national media like People magazine and iHeartRadio.
Talent for this week’s event, dubbed “Rock the RoC,” includes the Avett Brothers, Jason Mraz, rapper Michael Franti, Wesley Schultz of The Lumineers, blues singer Ruthie Foster and Graham Nash. It will also feature appearances by Colorado Gov. Jared Polis, who has declared April 7 “Charlotte Figi Day,” and CNN correspondent Sanjay Gupta, whose documentary “Weed” showed how Charlotte’s debilitating seizures were treated with Charlotte’s Web’s product, causing the neurosurgeon to famously change his previous anti-cannabis stance.
Senior leaders at Charlotte’s Web wanted to hold a memorial at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Denver when Charlotte Figi passed away in April 2020, but Covid-19 restrictions didn’t allow for a public gathering.
